Passionate about wellness, Jeff Fenster founded his San Diego-based craft superfood chain, Everbowl, in 2016 to help people become healthier versions of themselves. Today, with 21 SoCal locations under his belt, Fenster’s developed quite a following among health and fitness enthusiasts, who flock to his eateries for nutritious bowls and smoothies chock-full of pure, raw, organic and unsweetened acai, pitaya, graviola and acerola. In fact, six out of seven days a week, he replaces one of his daily meals with a Popeye smoothie (loaded with spinach, of course) or an original Everbowl rife with goji berries, granola and more. Coming soon? Look for Fenster to take the brand national and to develop a line of consumer packaged goods. Here, he chats with us about his favorite health and wellness hot spots around town.
Get Moving! “I always encourage my family to work out with me, and one of our favorite activities is a hike up one of the more challenging hills at the San Diego Zoo. We all love the constantly changing landscape, incredible scenery and interactions with the animals. It’s a fun (and sneaky) way to get moving with the kids!”
Downright Smashing “While I love to work out in nature as much as possible, I also belong to the Bay Club Carmel Valley. The entire facility is top-notch. I love to play tennis, and the Bay Club has eight courts that are well-lit and open late, so I can always manage to squeeze in a game whenever I have time.”
Great Gear “When my family and I are walking around Encinitas, we always pop into Vuori. This shop has a great selection of athletic clothing that is very high-quality for both men and women. The staff is always very helpful, and I also love that you can buy it online as well.”
