Women of Dedication Luncheon

| May 10, 2017 | Parties

Doyennes gathered for The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary annual Women of Dedication luncheon, aptly themed Angels of Dedication.

THE PARTY The Manchester Grand Hyatt was buzzing with girl power and goodwill during The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary 52nd annual Women of Dedication luncheon. Hundreds of do-gooders joined together to help raise roughly $250,000 for the organization’s social service programs. THE SCENE S.D.’s top philanthropic leaders were in attendance, including Jessie Knight, Valerie Cooper, Malin Burnham and Jenny Craig, and the fete honored 12 women for their extensive charitable work throughout the city. It also paid homage to honorary chairs Betty and Mary Ann Beyster for their inspiring contribution to The Salvation Army over the years. THE HIGHLIGHTS Guests were treated to pop-up shops galore before sitting down to a fresh harvest Cobb salad and a sweet dessert trio. Afterward, the honorees were welcomed and serenaded by the San Diego Master Chorale with charming tunes tailored to each woman. We happily had “Sweet Caroline”—a nod to honoree Caroline Nierenberg—playing in our heads for days. -Kalah Siegel
